About Us

In 1988, Richard (Dick) Pastore founded RP Engineering after serving 14 years with the United States Environmental Protection Agency as an environmental engineer.

Over his career, Dick has worked professionally as a residential and commercial builder, giving him a unique and practical perspective on how to apply engineering principles in the field.

He holds a B.S.C.E. and M.S.C.E. from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and completed his post-graduate studies in structural, environmental, geotechnical, and biological sciences at the University of Rhode Island.

Dick is highly active in the community, having served for eighteen years on the North Kingstown Planning Commission, with ten years as chairman. He is currently serving on the Programs and Policy Committee of Save The Bay and participating as a member of the Rhode Island Salt Water Anglers’ Association. In his personal time, he enjoys gardening, boating, fishing, diving, and photographing marine life. He is also an avid furniture designer and custom woodworker. Click here for photos of his work.
